Training of Trainer's Programme

Call for Applications for a one week training program of ToTs of in-service nutrition officers

 

Introduction

Tanzania Food and Nutrition Centre (TFNC) in collaboration with Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) Department of Food Science and Technology have organized a Training for Trainers of in-service Regional and District Nutrition officers. This program has been developed by SUA supported by UNICEF and aims at equipping trainers who will participate in the training of nutrition officers with knowledge and skills on the use of developed training materials (Modules).

The training will be held in Morogoro from 18th to 24th May 2014 and subsequent training of participants will follow to cover Nutrition officers in all regions of Tanzania.The training venue will be communicated at a later date to successful candidates.

Admission requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in nutrition, health, public health, economics, accountancy, procurement and logistics. A master’s degree or equivalent is considered as an added advantage

  • Experience in planning and conducting training and facilitation

  • Fluency in both written and spoken Swahili and English language

  • Computer literacy

  • Ready to work under tight schedule outside Dar-es-salaam

  • Available during the entire period of the training

 

The course contents

  • Nutrition assessment including nutrition software;

  • Budgeting and accounting procedures;

  • Procurement and logistics;

  • Advocacy and resource mobilisation;

  • Support supervision,

  • Mentoring and counselling;

  • Data management;

  • Communication and dissemination;

  • Monitoring and Evaluation and Computer literacy

Course Duration:  

5 days, from 19th to 23rd May 2014

Awards:

Participants will be awarded a Master Trainer Certificate upon successful completion of all the above mentioned modules.

Tuition fees:

Tuition fees have already been covered and participants will be paid per-diems according to Government rates for the 5 training daysand transport expenses will be reimbursed.
