Goals of SPMC
The SPMC focuses its research activity on important pests of agricultural crops, forests, domestic animals and public health. The Centre has as its major priority also the training of pest research scientists with the ultimate goal to achieve expertise in pest biology and management.
The SPMC aims at coordinating all pest research at SUA, and shall provide assistance in research proposal writing, seeking for funding for pest research and assist in the training of pest control and research staff. In view of the availability of highly competent staff in the field of pest research, the centre shall provide and continues to provide guidance and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students, both local and foreign, specializing in all areas of pest biology, ecology, taxonomy and pest management.
